I do not like hospitals as most others but I am only disorganized mind set for a few moments and then something snaps back into place reminding me of the likely cause. I had an issue as a teen and from what I remember, the first was the worst.
We would only bring my brother to the hospital if he became unconscious after the seizure stops. This happened only once and I hope it won’t happen anymore. He bumped his head on the table when the seizure started and that was the probable cause of his blackout. The funny thing is that he continued his story that was disrupted by his seizure while we are in the hospital.
I have heard of that happening before caregiver so that may be pretty common. I don’t like waking up and not knowing where I am whether it’s the hospital or not.
I can only wonder what my nephew would be experiencing when he goes into seizure. We have never put him into emergency ward when he get into an episode. He never went unconscious in any seizures he had and I hope he won’t be experiencing this.
I can say that I have never had a seizure that sent me to the hospital. I’m thankful for that. That would be a pretty odd feeling waking up or coming out of the seizure and being somewhere else.
Thank God no! I hate that feeling even if you are just on vacation or visiting a friend where you wake up and don’t know where you are.
If nothing else, it’s a really vulnerable feeling… Not knowing exactly what happened or who was responsible for you ending up wherever you are. I also hate thinking that people who were around reacted to an unnecessary extreme.
It happened to me once but I was not really shocked. I was wondering though how and when I get into the ambulance. It was quite funny because the paramedics sent me back to the place where I had been to and not to the hospital.
I’ve been by out by myself sometimes, and had a seizure and people didn’t know I was epileptic is the main reason I wind up in the hospital. When you wake up in the emergency room, you know what’s happened. Soon as I tell the doctor’s I’m epileptic and being followed by a neurologist they pretty much kick me out.
I actually had this experience but this was when I was much younger. I woke up in our school’s infirmary and boy… that was veeerrryyyy scary for me because our school nurse was this big scary-looking woman. LOL
LOL Teddy! I have never had it happen from a seizure but I frequently have episodes where I wake-up and don’t know where I am even if it’s at home in my bed. Sometimes it takes me 2 or 3 minutes to figure out where I am.
Teddy you always make me smile. I don’t look forward to the disorientation but I am pretty sure I was the same on waking up in the morning before I developed epilepsy!
Have you ever had a seizure and when you wake up, you’re in the hospital? I HATE that. I don’t need to go to the hospital every time I have a seizure. If I did, sometimes I’d be there for weeks. I’m mostly controlled now though, so I haven’t done it in a while.
