This happened to me on several occasions. Sometimes I do taste a bit of the meat just to satisfy my cravings. I can discipline myself most of the time but it is not easy to resist.
It is very hard to stick to the low protein diet (any diet for that matter). I think the best solutions is to give in to temptation every once in awhile. Do not deprive yourself. It only makes it harder.
I agree with Martha. I think it won’t really affect our overall diet if we eat meat once in a while. I have been struggling to stick with a vegan diet and I still eat meat but only on weekends.
This is the issue I am actually having now while craving ribs of all things. Its been many years since I have had them and while I was not told specifically “do not” I also was not told that I could.
I’m so afraid for my baby that I don’t even have any in the house. We ALL are on the diet. We’ve gone totally vegetarian because of his illness. I do miss cheeseburgers and of all things pinto beans and cornbread. I was raised in the south so “soup beans” were part of my diet constantly.
What do you do when you are on a low-protein diet but you are tempted to eat meat? Do you give in to it and have a little bite? Or do you condition yourself to fight off any meat temptations?
