This is a good way of educating other people about the diet that we are into. They should understand that eating low-protein foods doesn’t mean that we are eating bland foods. We can prepare delicious yet healthy low-protein menu on the table and everyone would enjoy eating while learning the kind the food that we eat.

That’s a great idea. But sometimes it’s almost impossible to arrange such a party, as you are the only person with the condition in your location. Though, if there is a vegetarian community in your place, I think they will be happy to help you arranging the party.

I think melchor meant to have a party with your regular friends but simply serve low-protein foods. I think it sounds like a great idea and an easier way to show the diet than by just explaining it.

I would agree with this idea. People tend to think that having low-protein diet is like eating foods that are mostly bland. I also think that Melchor is referring to a party for friends and neighbors.

I think this is a great idea. People tend to learn a lot more with their senses so instead of just telling them what your diet consists of you can show them.

Thanks for the support guys. I will have this kind of party this weekend and I have invited my friends who have thoughts about low-protein diet as boring. I wish the members here could join the party.

Yeah, sorry, I think I have misunderstood the original thread. It’s indeed a great idea and I may arrange such a party some day. Good luck with your plan. That would be a nice weekend program. I wish I would be there also. :)

Lots of fruits and veggies with a low protein dip would be great.  I love fruit and can make a meal on it if I have to.  I am trying to stay on a low protein diet so when my baby gets to the eating stage we will already be familiar and will be able to cook and fix food for him.

The party went well with a few hiccups because there are some menus that tasted off. The good thing is that my friends who attended the party recommended more low-protein recipes that they knew would help me.
