I general you have two choices I think. The first is to compromise on both sides and find some middle ground. The second is to accept that no two people are the same and just respect each other for the different things they may or may not do.

I agree with Picky. It sounds like your aunt may be cooking more than one meal each night, just to satisfy everyone’s wants & needs. That would be extremely tough and time consuming.
What do we do if we are inside a home where some of family members have opposite interests or goals? The sister of my mother is having this problem because her husband needed to lessen the cholesterol intake for he has high blood pressure already but her son loves to eat meat.
